TEPNOT PRIVACY POLICY
This Tepnot Privacy Policy (Hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) shall apply to all the Users of Tepnot and all the Services provided by Tepnot.
Tepnot is under the sole control of Tepnot Technologies (OPC) Private Limited, a Company registered under the provisions of the Companies Act 2013, and having registered office at B-802, Platinum Heights, Mota Varachha, Opp Utran Power House, Utran, Surat, Gujarat- 394105 (Hereinafter referred to as the “Company” which expression shall include its successors and permitted assigns along with any wholly owned subsidiaries in any of its operating jurisdictions.)
The Company recognizes the importance of protecting the User’s Personal Data. The Company values the User’s privacy and appreciate the trust the User holds in the Company and warrants to use the best data security systems available at the Company’s disposal.
This Policy shall be read alongside the Tepnot Terms of Service
By clicking the “I Agree” button or accessing, using or installing Tepnot in whole or in part, the User expressly agrees to and consents to be bound by all of the Terms. If the User does not agree to the Terms and Policies so put forth, the button indicating “I Disagree” must be selected. Tepnot will promptly cancel these Terms of Service and block the access to the Services offered in whole.
1. SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF PRIVACY POLICY
1.2 This Privacy Policy shall explain how Tepnot collects, uses, shares, retains and transfers information and what rights are borne by the User.
2. USER CONSENT
2.2.[1.2.] The User may be able to review, update, or delete information that Tepnot may have about the User 2.3.[1.3.] The User may decline to share certain information with Tepnot in which case they shall also automatically opt out of using the particular feature or opt out of using Tepnot entirely.
2.4.[1.4.] On clear intimation and express consent of the User, Tepnot shall erase all the User Data that is retained by Tepnot and has been provided by the respective User.
3.[2.] DEFINITION AND INTERPRETATION
3.1.[2.1.] The term not defined in this Policy shall be referred to as their respective definitions in the Terms of Service, if the Terms of Service do not bear their definition, they shall be defined as their general definitions.
4.[3.] PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION
4.1.[3.1.] Tepnot, and by extension the Company, records and maintains the Personal Data of the Users for the following purposes:
4.1.1.[3.1.1.] The data and other information that is collected from the User may be
necessary for the User to access Tepnot to begin with.
4.1.2.[3.1.2.] The recording and maintenance of User’s Data is necessary to test the
performance of the Services and to enable Tepnot Team to improve the quality
of the Services to better suit the respective Users.
4.1.3.[3.1.3.] For purposes of compliance and any legal obligation Tepnot or the
Company shall be subject to with respect to the jurisdiction of the User.
4.1.4.[3.1.4.] To detect and prevent or otherwise address any fraudulent, illegal or
dangerous activity or other security issues that may arise in course of using
Tepnot.
4.3.[3.3.] The Users are requested to read this Policy before initiating the registration process.
4.4.[3.4.] If the User is under 18 years of age, they are instructed to seek advice from their Parents or legal guardians before registering with Tepnot. The Parents or Guardians of such Users shall bear the sole responsibility of ensuring that the User and they have understood every aspect of this policy and the Company or Tepnot shall bear no obligation or liability in the same
5.[4.] SECURITY OF CHILDREN
5.1.[4.1.] No User under the age of 13 years old shall use Tepnot without the verifiable consent of a legal guardian.
5.2.[4.2.] Tepnot shall not knowingly collect or maintain personal information of people under the age of 13 years. If it is found that a User is below the said age, Tepnot shall
immediately delete their information.
5.3.[4.3.] For residents of countries and regions where the processing of personal information is based on consent, Tepnot shall not knowingly engage in that processing for the Users under the age of consent established by applicable data
protection laws. If the Tepnot learns that it is engaged in that processing with such Users, Tepnot shall halt such processing with immediate effect and shall take reasonable measures to promptly remove relevant information from the records.
6.[5.] INFORMATION COLLECTED
6.2.[5.2.] As stated, the Collection of information is necessary for the functioning of certain features on Tepnot. If the User refuses to provide the information, the feature
shall be inaccessible to the User or their experience may be affected.
6.3. Tepnot affirms that the information taken from the User is necessary and precise and any optional information shall be marked as such..
6.4.[5.3.] The Mandatory Information provided by the User is as follows:
i. The User’s Mobile Number
ii. Name of the User (The name may be the original name or name chosen by the User)
iii. Bio Information
iv. Country of the User
v. Profile Picture (Optional)
6.4.2.[5.3.2.] Message Information: At the outset, it is stated that all messages on Tepnot have end-to-end encryption and thusTepnot, and by extension the Company, does not retain any messages in the ordinary course of providing the
Tepnot Services. Tepnot promptly deletes all messages from the Tepnot Servers immediately after their delivery. Tepnot shall only store the User’s messages under specific scenarios as follows
i. In case of Undelivered Messages, they shall be stored for 30 days before being deleted.
ii. Forwarded Media may be stored temporarily to better facilitate the delivery of additional forwards.
6.4.3.[5.3.3.] Connection Information:
i. Contact Synchronization: The User may synchronize their contacts with Tepnot. If any of the User’s Contacts are not availing Tepnot Services, such contacts shall not be displayed on Tepnot.
ii. Device Synchronization: The User may connect Tepnot on their personal mobile device to Tepnot on their personal computer.
6.4.4.[5.3.4.] Communication Information:
i. The Phone number used by the User to communicate with customer service
ii. E-Mail Address of the User
6.4.5.[5.3.5.] Access to Device Information: The User shall be asked to specifically grant access to the following without limitation:
i. Contacts on the User’s Device
ii. Live Location of the User
iii. Files or the respective File management application of the User
iv. The Media or media management Application of the user
i. Login Activity of the User
ii. The frequency and duration of the User accessing particular features on Tepnot.
iii. User’s interaction with the Content posted by other Users.
iv. Any other activity undertaken by User after logging in
6.5.2.[5.4.2.] Connection Information: shall include without limitation
i. Device and Connection specific information when Tepnot is installed.
ii. This includes information such as hardware model, operating system information, battery level, signal strength, app version, browser information, mobile network, connection information (including phone number, mobile operator or ISP), language and time zone, IP address, device operations information, and identifiers
6.5.3.[5.4.3.] Cookies: shall mean
i. Tepnot uses cookies to operate and provide the Tepnot services including services that are web-based to improve the User experience to understand how Tepnot is being used and customize it to the User’s convenience.
ii. Tepnot may also use cookies to track the activities of the User while interacting with other Users’ content to understand the User’s preference.
iii. Additionally cookies may be used to remember the User’s choices, language preference, to secure the safety of using Tepnot and customize the Services for the User.
7.[6.] HOW INFORMATION IS USED
7.1.[6.1.] Tepnot Services: Tepnot uses the information that is attained through the means stated above to do the following
7.1.1.[6.1.1.] Operate and provide services
7.1.2.[6.1.2.] User support
7.1.3.[6.1.3.] Improving, fixing and customizing Tepnot Services.
7.3.[6.3.] Communications: Tepnot, and by extension the Company, shall use the information attained using the methods stated above to communicate with the User
regarding notifications, updates to the Services or the Terms and Policies of Tepnot
8.[7.] HOW INFORMATION IS DISCLOSED TO THIRD PARTIES
8.1.[7.1.] The User’s information may be disclosed under the following situations, including but not limited to:
8.1.1.[7.1.1.] To the subsidiaries and affiliates of the Company
8.1.2.[7.1.2.] To contractors, service providers and other third parties that may be enlisted in maintaining information.
8.1.3.[7.1.3.] To abide by any contractual obligations with stakeholders.
8.1.4.[7.1.4.] To a buyer or other successor of the Company in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of the Company’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by the Company about the Platform Users is among the assets transferred.
8.1.5.[7.1.5.] To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including responding to any government or regulatory request.
8.1.6.[7.1.6.] In the event an authority empowered by law demands the information of the User, the Company shall only provide them the information that is necessary as the case may be.
8.1.7.[7.1.7.] To the User themselves if they demand the Company for a copy of the information that has been provided by them.
9.THE USER’S EXERCISE OF RIGHTS
9.1 Tepnot provides the User’s with the necessary means to manage, download or delete the User information.
9.2. The Users can view the information provided by them as follows:
9.3. The User may request a copy of their information by emailing Tepnot at with the subject “REQUEST FOR USER INFORMATION” and their full identity details as provided by them.
9.4. The User may request Tepnot to delete their information by emailing at with the subject “REQUEST FOR DELETION OF DATA” along with their full email, contact ID and name and proofs of identiy.
10.[8.] RETAINING USER INFORMATION
10.1.[8.1.] Tepnot shall only store the User’s information as long as necessary for the purposes identified in this Policy.
10.2.[8.2.] The storage period shall depend on a case to case basis that depends on factors like the nature of the information, why it is collected and processed, relevant legal or operational retention needs, and legal obligations.
10.3.[8.3.] Tepnot shall also retain how long the Services were used by the User.
10.4.[8.4.] The User may modify the information that is retained in the following manner:
10.4.1.[8.4.1.] User may be able to delete certain kinds of data such as User’s personal information or the Content that is uploaded by the User. User may also delete activity information as well as their name, bio and profile picture.
10.4.2.[8.4.2.] Other data is deleted or anonymized automatically after a set period of time, such as advertising data in server logs.
10.4.3.[8.4.3.] When the User deletes data, Tepnot follows a deletion process to make sure that the User’s data is safely and completely removed from the Company’s servers or retained only in anonymized form.
10.5.[8.5.] In the event of the deletion of the User’s Account, the Company shall not be under any obligation to delete all the related data of the User. As stated above, some data shall be retained only as per the nature and necessity of the information and data in question.
11.[9.] CONFIDENTIALITY
11.1.[9.1.] The User specifically agrees that the details related to the account shall be
disclosed to the associated third-parties. The sensitive information of the User shall
not be disclosed to any anonymous third party without the prior approval of the User
or for a Service that is requested by the User or for the above-mentioned clauses.
12.[10.] LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
12.3.[10.3.] The laws of some jurisdictions may not allow the exclusions and limitations set forth above and may not apply to the Users. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms, in such cases, the liability of Tepnot shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by the Applicable Law.
13.[11.] INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER
13.1.[11.1.] The information collected may be processed within the jurisdiction of the user’s resident or in any country outside such jurisdiction where Tepnot/Company’s affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, or service providers are located or maintain facilities.
13.2.[11.2.] If the Company transfers any information about the User to any such entities, located outside the territory of the country in which the Company is established or located, such data transfers shall take place according to the Applicable Laws governing such transfers. The Company ensures abidance to the same, however, the Company shall not be held liable for any data leak or for any unwanted effect on the data during such transfers.
14.[12.] CONTACT INFORMATION AND GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL
14.1.[12.1.] Users having queries or comment about this Policy may choose to contact the Grievance Officer.
14.2.[12.2.] In case of any concerns or complaints regarding the breach of Privacy Policy, the User may reach out to the assigned Grievance Officer through the following contact details.

15.[13.] PRIVACY COMPLAINT
15.2.[13.2.] The Tepnot Team shall take immediate action against such user or third party.
15.4.[13.4.] Tepnot shall not accept claims made by third parties on behalf of any other User except in situations including but not limited to:
15.4.1.[13.4.1.] The individual whose privacy is being violated does not have access to a device through which Tepnot can be accessed.
15.4.2.[13.4.2.] The claim is being made by the parent or legal guardian of the minor whose privacy has being violated.
15.4.3.[13.4.3.] The claim is being made by a legal representative for the individual or entity whose privacy is being violated.
15.4.4.[13.4.4.] The request is filed by a close family member on behalf of a deceased individual.
15.5.[13.5.] Tepnot will not accept privacy complaints filed on behalf of:
15.5.1.[13.5.1.] Other family members (such as husband, wife, cousin, brother, sister).
15.5.2.[13.5.2.] Co-workers or employees (individuals must submit a report themselves).
16.[14.] CHANGES TO POLICY
16.1.[14.1.] Tepnot reserves the right to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this Policy at any time without any obligation of intimating the Users.
16.2.[14.2.] The Users shall have the onus of being updated with the changes made in this Policy.
